To maintain potency, ProQuad must be stored frozen between –58ºF and +5ºF (–50ºC to –15ºC). Use of dry ice may subject ProQuad to temperatures colder than –58ºF (–50ºC). Before reconstitution, store the lyophilized vaccine continuously in a reliably maintained freezer (eg, chest, frost-free) for up to 18 months.
What is ProQuad vaccine?

For Adults The dosage for MMR vaccine is 0.5 mL by the subcutaneous route. If a second dose is indicated, the minimum interval between the first and second doses should be separated by at least 4 weeks (28 days). The preferred injection site for adults is the posterior triceps aspect of the upper arm. What is the difference between MMR and ProQuad?
M-M-R II® is a combination measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. ProQuad® is a combination measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV) vaccine.

What happens if you give MMR intramuscular?
All live injected vaccines (MMR, varicella, and yellow fever) are recommended to be given subcutaneously. However, intramuscular administration of any of these vaccines is not likely to decrease immunogenicity, and doses given IM do not need to be repeated. We often need to give MMR vaccine to large adults.
Does ProQuad contain thimerosal?
A: The U.S.-licensed MMR and the measles, mumps, rubella and varicella virus (ProQuad) vaccines do not contain thimerosal.

MMR and varicella vaccine can be administered simultaneously (7). Live, attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) does not interfere with the immune response to MMR or varicella vaccines administered at the same visit (18).

For the measles vaccine to work, the body needs time to produce protective antibodies in response to the vaccine. Detectable antibodies generally appear within just a few days after vaccination. People are usually fully protected after about 2 or 3 weeks.
Can MMRV be given to adults?
A second dose of MMRV vaccine can be given 3 months after the first dose up to 12 years of age. Adults should also be up to date on MMR vaccinations with either 1 or 2 doses (depending on risk factors) unless they have other presumptive evidence of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella.
How many doses of pentavalent does a child needs?
When should they be given? Three doses are given. The first dose is given as pentavalent vaccine only after a child is 6 weeks old. The second and third doses are given at 10 and 14 weeks of age respectively also in the form of pentavalent vaccines.
Can you give Hep B and MMR together?
The individual hepatitis B vaccine can be given at the same time as other vaccines such as the PCV, hepatitis A, MMR, pre-school booster and other travel vaccines. The vaccines should be given at a separate site, preferably in a different arm or leg.
How do you give a subcutaneous MMR vaccine?
Withdraw the entire volume of the reconstituted vaccine and inject subcutaneously into the outer aspect of the upper arm (deltoid region) or into the higher anterolateral area of the thigh. To minimize loss of potency, administer M-M-R®II as soon as possible after reconstitution.
Is varicella vaccine subcutaneous or IM?
VARIVAX is administered as an approximately 0.5-mL dose by subcutaneous injection into the outer aspect of the upper arm (deltoid region) or the anterolateral thigh. Do not administer this product intravascularly or intramuscularly.
